Kotobukiya Bishoujo Street Fighter Cammy review by Kool Kollectibles

Hey all, Khai from Kool Kollectibles back for another review, this time the gorgeous Kotobukiya Bishoujo Street Fighter Cammy statue.

Kotobukiya have been releasing some amazing statues recently, covering a large range of source material from DC and Marvel comics, to Star Wars and anime, and also gaming with Tekken and Street Fighter. I reviewed their first Street Fighter Bishoujo statue in Chun-Li a couple of months back, and now they have released an equally amazing statue in Cammy.

Click the link below to head on over to the Kool Kollectibles YouTube channel and check out my full video review of this gorgeous statue!

If you want to see some more pics and read about my thoughts, keep on reading below :)

As always with Kotobukiya, the sculpting and paint application on the statue is outstanding, and up close really brings out the detail in the character. The pose is dynamic and for the most part faithfully captures the Bishoujo artwork by renowned artist Shunya Yamashita.

The standout feature is definitely the musculature, that really captures the strength and beauty of Cammy. Many statues have only one or two directions in which the it looks best on display. But with such a dynamic pose, this Cammy can be placed in many directions with all looking equally awesome.

Front on shows her strong fighting pose with her fist close to her beautifully rendered face, and her outstretched arm flashing out in attack. While from behind, the statue really brings the focus to her hair, legs, and of course iconic leotard.

The leotard itself is nicely molded and painted, with no bleed through onto the skin texture. It even has great molded lines and black wash to bring out the realistic nature of the costume.

And as always with Kotobukiya statues, it's the little details too that bring the statue up a level. The molded detail on the boots with the laces, to the shiny metallic red finish on her gauntlets, to the painted details on her fingernails and eyes, all sum up to make for a statue with incredible presence on display.

When paired up with Chun-Li, these two perfectly complement each other, almost as if they are sparring. I was so impressed with Chun-Li previously, but I think this new Cammy statue out does it on almost every level.

If you’re a fan of Street Fighter, or anime, or just the Bishoujo line of statues in general, I would highly recommend the new Cammy statue.

Kotobukiya have already teased the upcoming statues in the line with Juri, Sakura, and Poison confirmed to be next in the Street Fighter series. I can’t wait to get those as well! J

Hi all!! New contributor Khai from Kool Kollectibles here :)

Hi everyone, I'm Khai, a new contributor to the awesome Teksushi blog. Just thought I'd quickly introduce myself before I start posting up some content. Well, you'll probably get my collecting mindset these days when I say I loved growing up in the 80s, so that's why I still live there!! :) As a kid, I loved watching all the classic Sat morning cartoons - Transformers, Masters of the Universe, Voltron, Centurions, Thundercats.....you name any kids cartoon back then, and I probably watched it! And going through school, I remember at least watching one of the original episodes of the Star Wars trilogy on the weekend too!

The main toys I had back then were my now vintage set of original G1 Transformers, some of which I still have to this day! But other than that, I wasn't really a collector until late 2011. The release of Star Wars saga on bluray really got my interest back into Star Wars, and after seeing all the Vintage Collection figures on toys shelves the previous year, I decided to get back in the game! Before I started buying, I watched heaps of review videos on youtube, and of course one reviewer stood out among many - flyguy.net, no doubt you all know of him :)

So flyguy pretty much sealed my fate and got me hooked on the TVC figures all the way through 2011 and 2012 until the most recent figures were finally released. But as I was going through 2012 with the TVC line, flyguy and many others were posting videos of awesome 1/6th scale figures from Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys, and I was inevitably sucked into another (hugely expensive) collecting world!! And from that point, my collection has grown in leaps and bounds that I never imagined it would!

To start sharing thoughts and news about figures, I started my own Kool Kollectibles youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/ckly76 and Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/KoolKollectibles

Flyguy himself gave me some pointers to even start my own Kool Kollectibles blog and Google+ page, and I've now joined Teksushi to share even more news and collecting gossip with everyone. I hope to hear from all of you soon, and can't wait to start posting on the blog!
Thanks, Khai
